□ Decide where you’d like to deliver your baby (check your doctor’s hospital privileges).
□ Tour your hospital’s birth suite.
□ Pre-register at the hospital.
□ Set up your baby registry.
□ Start designing your nursery.
□ Wash baby’s clothes.
□ Pack your hospital bag. Be sure to include items for both you and your baby.
□ Install rear-facing infant car seat.
□ Choose a pediatrician.
□ Attend a childbirth class.
□ Determine a birth plan.
□ Stock up on household essentials.
□ Clean your house and car just before your due date.
□ Prepare freezer meals to enjoy the first two weeks after birth.
□ Obtain a breast pump (check with your health insurance plan to see if they provide one).
□ Stock up on diapers and wipes (newborn and size 1).
□ Gather some postpartum essentials like comfortable underwear and pads, nipple/ nursing pads, lanolin, and button-down shirts/pajamas.
□ Contact your organization’s human resources team to learn more about your parental leave options (if applicable).
□ Plan a fun date night.
□ Arrange health insurance for your baby.
□ Determine your childcare plan (if necessary).
□ Plan care for older children and pets during the birth.
□ Schedule a maternity session with a photographer around 32 weeks (if desired).
